DR. WAGNER: I think we’ll go ahead and get underway. Fortunately, we’ve all had a chance to review everyone’s bios and by the time I’m through reading, I suspect Steve will be with us. And we’re going to continue our discussion this afternoon on the future impact of national bioethics advisory bodies.

DR. WAGNER: We are continuing our conversation on the impact of national bioethics advisory bodies. And… as our panel grabs their seat, we will follow the same format this afternoon. We will work through our panelists. Please…take your time. We will do the same process, introduce each of you individually and have you make your remarks. We'll have some conversation, and then we're going to invite the prior panelists also to join us for the final session of the day.

DR. WAGNER:  We are assembled.  Let's ‑‑ our afternoon is committed to discussing some possible recommendations with regard to the education ‑‑ ouch ‑‑ component.  We always put that leg right in front of me, don't we?

And we have some ‑‑ and we do have some questions from our Mount Holyoke students, Commissioners.  So I think I'd like to ‑‑ oh, and from some others.  So I think ‑‑

DR. GUTMANN:  Yeah.

DR. WAGNER:  ‑‑ I think I'd like to go through these very, very quickly and ‑‑ as we make the transition.

DR. WAGNER:  I hate to cut you off but you're digging into your next session.

DR. GUTMANN:  Yes.  We're going on.  I'm happy to do it.

Okay.  So we're moving on to consider the relationship between deliberation and bioethics education.  We've already done some of this.  But we have some provisional recommendations on this.
