Today the President announced a new $100 million investment into the BRAIN Initiative, Brain Research through Advancing Innovative Neurotechnologies (http://www.whitehouse.gov/infographics/brain-initiative). The President stated that he will ask the Presidential Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues to examine the ethical, legal, and societal implications raised by this research initiative. We stand ready to assist the President and will engage in discussions with the White House to determine how we can be most helpful in examining the ethical considerations of this important area.
